very interesting. I was this morning with some clients and indeed, we were poking fun on the idea of ghost-posting, or at least posting for a very limited audience, and creating a sort of scarcity.

A lot of solo owners and small businesses with shoestring marketing budgets try really hard (maybe even too hard?) to be everywhere, even when it's clear that half of those efforts aren't bringing in any value. Let's hope "subtraction is the new growth" will finally be the mantra this year!

Totally agree! And I think this goes hand in hand with community building: being selective about where you show up and how/why. Not just adding another channel to play it safe. Subtracting strategy reminds me of the supermarket jam test lol

Less ends up being more. I’ve been intentionally scaling back for a few years now. Thanks for this reminder.

Loved this. And it’s interesting because I’m new here and on LinkedIn, but my nervous system already feels calmer as though I’ve found my place — and I can ditch the ‘trying to keep up on Instagram’ I’ve felt literally since it introduced reels and I could no longer just… write.

This is so amazing to read. I created a business plan a few days ago, and I definitely added more. I also felt so stressed about it because I don’t trust I have the energy to be consistent with those things. This is the missing link - subtract and journey further on just a few paths. I will be redesigning the business plan after this, thank you 💕

Glad it resonated Abby! I think esp when you have a small team (often a team of one!) it's always best to concentrate efforts in fewer spaces. You can always expand as and when the right time comes. What's your business?

Deeply enjoyed this read. Simplicity seems to be the song this year and beyond.
